Congratulations to all 39 soloists who worked hard and represented our school so well in Vancouver!  Special recognition goes to our two podium-placers, Brigid O’Connor, 2nd in Girls U14A and Brielle Maguire, 3rd in Gilrs U8.

We are very proud of our results and of all of our dancers! Excitement is building as we head into the New England Oireachtas this fall, working hard to add to our 12 World Qualifiers, and then on to Dublin, Ireland for the 2020 World Championships!

Murray Academy Wins Globe / Medals at 2019 World Championships! – Greensboro, NC

Brigid O’Connor – 3rd Place – Girls 13-14

Congratulations to all of our qualifiers for their performances at this year’s World Championships, with a special congratulations to Brigid O’Connor for bringing home the 3rd place globe in U13 Girls competition, to Maggie Krein, Ava Krueger, and our sub-minor girls ceili team for their World Medals, and to Bailey Bartel, Sadie Bucknam, Ella Campfield, Gabby Desrochers, Audrey Malila, Charlotte McDaniel, Aoife Murphy and to our Junior and two Senior Girls Ceili teams on their recall medals!

This year 20 of our qualifiers attended. In addition to the 10 receiving individual solo medals, we had another 3 dancers placing in the top half of their competitions and earning the chance to compete on Day 2 in this first year of the new competition format. We are very proud of our results and of our dancers, and we’re excited to see continued progress in Dublin, Ireland for the 2020 World Championships!

Murray Academy Wins Big At 2018 New England Oireachtas! – Hartford, CT

Our World Qualifiers and Top 5 Placers

Over 1500 dancers from throughout New England took the stage last weekend at the Hartford Convention Center in CT.  The solo competitions at this event determine who is eligible to attend the World Championships of Irish Dance, to be held in April 2019 in Greensboro, NC.  The event also includes team competitions in 5 different age groups.

We are proud to announce our best showing ever at the New England Championships! Our students won 4 of the solo championships and had 13 dancers place in the top 5.  We also had 5 teams rank in the top 5, including one winning team, and qualified 9 dancers to compete at the World Championships in addition to the 14 that qualified at the North American Championships this past July. The dance school’s 4 winners were:

  • Ava Krueger, U10
  • Brigid O’Connor, U13 (6 time winner)
  • Maggie Krein, U15 (2 time winner)
  • Sadie Bucknam, U17 (3 time winner)
  • Maggie Krein, Gabby Desrochers, Audrey Malila, Eiley Mulkern – Girls 4-Hand O15
