World Championships—April 2017, Dublin, Ireland

Congratulations to all our qualifiers for their very hard work and great performances at this year’s World Championships, with a special congrats to Brigid O’Connor for her top 10 placement and World Medal! This year we had 19 of our 21 qualifiers attend (S. O’Neill retired, C. MacRitchie injured). Our dancers brought home 6 individual solo medals (32% of our dancers in the top 50), and another 5 placed in the top half (for a total of 58%) in very large competitions of 150-200. We are very proud of our results and our dancers, and look forward to 2018 in Glasgow!

New England Oireachtas—November, 2016, Providence, RI

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, families and teachers on this year’s regional championship!! This year, we had 3 solo winners, 1 runner up, and 21 Qualifiers, along with 13 in the top 5 and 21 in the top 10! Results are summarized as follows:

In team competitions, we had 1 winner, 1 runner-up, 8 teams in the top 5, and 10 teams in the top 10, including four Ceili teams. We are so proud of all of our dancers!

All Ireland Championships—October/November, 2016, Belfast, Ireland

Brigid O’Connor — Second Place!!

Congratulations to the eight Murray Academy dancers who traveled to Belfast to participate in the prestigious All Ireland Championships! This competition is second only to the World Championships in prestige. We are very proud of Brigid O’Connor who placed 2nd in the U11 competition. We also had 2 others in the top 20–Sadie Bucknam 12th place, and Clare MacRitchie 18th place. All our dancers earned a recall medal in both light and heavy dances, and 7 or our 8 dancers recalled! Congratulations to these additional placers: 25th Jolie Preece; 28th Charlotte McDaniel; 34th Caitlin MacVarish; and 44th Bailey Kelly.
