New England Oireachtas—November, 2016, Providence, RI
 


 

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, families and teachers on this year's regional championship!! This year, we had 3 solo winners, 1 runner up, and 21 Qualifiers, along with 13 in the top 5 and 21 in the top 10! Results are summarized as follows:

All Ireland Championships—October/November, 2016, Belfast, Ireland
 

Brigid O'Connor -- Second Place!!




 

Congratulations to the eight Murray Academy dancers who traveled to Belfast to participate in the prestigious All Ireland Championships! This competition is second only to the World Championships in prestige. We are very proud of Brigid O'Connor who placed 2nd in the U11 competition. We also had 2 others in the top 20--Sadie Bucknam 12th place, and Clare MacRitchie 18th place. All our dancers earned a recall medal in both light and heavy dances, and 7 or our 8 dancers recalled! Congratulations to these additional placers: 25th Jolie Preece; 28th Charlotte McDaniel; 34th Caitlin MacVarish; and 44th Bailey Kelly.

North American Championships—July 2016, Orlando, Florida
 

Murray Academy at the North American Championships 2016

Congratulations to the Murray Academy dancers, their parents and our teachers and trainers on the great success of our dancers at this year’s North American championship! We would especially like to congratulate our newest National Champion, Brigid O'Connor, Girls U11A, on winning her competition (with a nearly perfect score of 875 out of 900)!

Of our 44 soloists, 77% recalled (top half) and 27% placed high enough to qualify for the 2017 World Championships in Dublin (12 dancers). In addition, we had 7 dancers in the top 5 and 10 in the top 10.

We are so proud of our dancers for their goal setting, work ethic, and ability to perform under pressure. What amazing girls!

World Championships—March 2016, Glasgow, Scotland
 

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, their parents and the teachers on our results at this year’s World Championships!! And a special congratulations to our two podium placers -- Brigid O’Connor, 2nd in U11 and Kate Babcock, 5th in U18! This year 18 of our 20 qualifiers attended. Our students earned four World medals (three more than any other New England Irish dance school in girls’ competitions) and four additional recall medals, giving us a total of 8 individual medals, the highest total in New England for girls! We are proud of having 45% in the top 25-35% (recall) and 67% in the top half of their competitions. With competitions that were between 140-190 competitors, all at 3 at a time for the first two rounds, these are amazing results!! We are so proud of our girls!

Out of the 12 girls’ competitions that we competed in, we had 4 winners, 4 runner ups, and 20 Qualifiers, along with 15 in the top 5 and 24 in the top 10! Results are summarized as follows:

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, families and teachers on our success at this year's North American championship!! Results are summarized as follows:

Kate Babcock - U17A National Champion!
Clare MacRitchie - U16B Runner-up
11 World Qualifiers
4 Dancers in the top 5

U13 team placed 15th out of 53 teams
Overall recall rate was 63%

World Championships—April 2015, Montreal, Canada
 

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, their parents and the teachers on our best ever results at this year’s World Championships!! This year 16 of our 17 qualifiers were able to attend (Emily Varga was injured but will be back to competing for the 2015 North American Championships). A special congratulations goes to Kate Babcock, U17, for her 3rd place and for bringing home a Globe! We earned 6 World medals, four more than any other New England Irish dance school in girls’ competitions, and 3 additional recall medals, giving us a total of 9 individual medals, the highest total in New England for girls! Additionally, our U19 Girls Senior Ceili team placed 7th which was also a world medal. We are proud of our 56% recall rate for solos and for the outstanding performances of all our participating dancers. We are so proud of you team Murray!

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, families and teachers on our outstanding results at this year's regional championship!! We competed only in girls' solo and girls’ team competitions. Results are summarized as follows:

In team competitions, we had 5 teams in the top 5, and 10 teams in the top 10, including three 8 hand teams: 3rd place (U12), 6th place (U15), and 5th place (15 & over). Our girls did an incredible job!

World Championships—April 2014, London, England
 

Congratulations to all of the Murray Academy dancers, their parents and the teachers on our fabulous results at this elite level of competition!! This year our school competed in solos only. 14 of our 17 qualifiers were able to attend (Siobhan O’Neill was injured but will be back to competing for the 2014 North Americans). We earned 3 World medals, more than any other New England Irish dance school in girls’ competitions, and 4 additional recall medals, giving us a total of 7 medals, the 2nd highest total in New England for girls’ competitions. We are proud of our 50% recall, and for the outstanding performances of all our participating dancers. These are our best results yet…well done team Murray!

World Championships—March 2013, Boston, MA
 

Congratulations to all the Murray Academy dancers, teachers and families on shining in World competiition!!     

Our school earned 4 World medals and an additional 8 recall medals…12 medals total!! Our figure team, “Queen Maeve”, not only earned a World Medal but a Globe trophy as well (top 3 dancers/teams earn a Globe)…this is the Murray Academy’s first Globe! Congratulations, girls…WELL DONE!

The Murray Academy is very proud of our two World Medalists, three recall medalists and all ten of our qualifiers who danced!  They represented the Murray Academy and the New England Region extremely well in this fourth year that we've attended the Worlds.



New England Championships—November 2011, Providence, RI

The Murray Academy participated for its 6th consecutive year in the New England Oireachtas (Regional Championships). Results included:
 

  • 11 World Qualifiers (10 female, 1 male),

  • 10 dancers in top 5, including 1 winner;

  • 26 out of 32 placers in solo championships, of whom 24 qualified to attend the Nationals. 

We also had 5 winners of traditional set comps, with 16 total in the top 5; and 6 teams in the top 5 including, including top 3 wins in U9 and U12 8 hands.  72 of our 84 attendees came home with at least one award…we are proud of what we have accomplished in six years! 

 

National Championships - July 2011, Nashville, TN

The Murray Academy participated in the North American Championships in Nashville, TN in July 2011.  This was the 4th year the school attended this event, and we came home with 1 first place champion,  5 girls in the top 10 of their competitions, 15 out of 17 soloists having placed, and both teams having placed…6th  out of 28 in U13 ceili and 2nd in U13 figure choreography!!  Congratulations to all our participating dancers.  It was an amazing week and experience.

The Murray Academy is proud to be home to 2 World Medalists, as well as 1 recall medalist (top 3rd)!!  This was the third year our school has attended the World Championships.

Congratulations to our team of 7 dancers who attended this year’s World Championships of Irish Dance in Dublin. They represented the Murray Academy, New Hampshire and the New England Region so well! Competitions were run by age group and had roughly 150 of the best dancers in each.

The Murray Academy participated in the New England Oireachtas (Regional Championships). Results included 9 World Qualifiers (8 female, 1 male) and many dancers in the top 10.

We also had 4 winners of traditional set comps, with 12 total in the top 5; and 5 teams in the top 5 including, including top 3 wins in U9 and U12 4 hands and a first place finish in Choreography!
